Founded in 1867, Howard University is a private, historically black college and university (HBCU) in Washington, D.C. Howard is comprised of 14 schools and colleges and offers undergraduate, graduate, and professional degrees in more than 140 programs.
As a past client of Hartman Executive Advisors, Howard engaged Hartman for transitional Chief Information Officer (CIO) services as the university searched for a permanent CIO to lead IT for the premier HBCU. Hartman assisted Howard in promoting and coaching the Director of Enterprise Applications, a longtime university employee, to Interim CIO, and ultimately permanent CIO. The employee was later named Associate Vice President and CIO of Howard University.
