Over the years, Roland Park Place, a continuing care retirement community (CCRC) in Baltimore, came to recognize a need for an electronic health record (EHR) to better meet its business and technology objectives. Leadership realized the impact technology had on the facility’s day-to-day operations and decided it was time for an integrated technology strategy.
Through Hartman Executive Advisors’ proprietary assessment process, the team identified opportunities for system and technology process improvements and developed a roadmap to connect technology initiatives to business objectives. The Hartman team first improved network infrastructure though the migration of all server functions to a virtualized architecture. Other initiatives included the deployment of a campus-wide wireless network. Hartman then worked alongside both the CEO and CFO to select and incrementally implement an EHR at a pace of adoption that assured success. In addition to improving technological functionality for staff, Hartman worked to manage expectations for residents and establish standards for personal IT support.
Today, Roland Park Place has an integrated EHR and financial system that operates on a reliable and integrated platform. Hartman works closely with Roland Park Place to maintain the infrastructure and lend IT leadership and advisory services to new initiatives that advance business objectives.
