The Edison Electric Institute (EEI), representing U.S. investor-owned electric companies, struggled with outdated technology, operational inefficiencies, and a lack of IT governance. Without a strategic IT department, EEI’s technology investments were misaligned with its long-term goals. EEI engaged Hartman Executive Advisors to assess its IT landscape and provide fractional CIO, CTO, and CISO services. Hartman restructured the IT department, implemented governance processes, established a security committee, and improved IT decision-making through a portfolio investment committee. These efforts enhanced cybersecurity, increased productivity, and ensured IT investments aligned with EEI’s strategic vision, creating a stronger, more secure, and efficient IT environment.
