Bringing more than 20 years of experience in healthcare information technology, Syed focuses on helping his clients reach their maximum potential by helping them align their mission and business strategy with the right tools, systems and people. A turnaround specialist, he has helped some of the most dynamic and complex healthcare organizations in the country complete critical projects on time and under budget to achieve bottom-line results.
“Healthcare is evolving very fast, and technology is at the forefront of this change. In order to participate and compete in the massive innovation that’s happening around the country, healthcare organizations need to make sure that their policies, procedures and technologies all work in tandem.”
Syed’s experience includes university healthcare systems, a for-profit healthcare revenue cycle and practice management firm, long-term post-acute care, and a fully integrated behavioral health and primary care organization (FQHC). As Chief of Business Operations and Chief Information Officer at Banyan Health Systems in Miami, Syed led a complete business turnaround that shaved $2 million in recurring annual expenses from the budget in his first year. Working closely with business unit leaders, he optimized process workflows, led EMR and ERP software implementations, and upgraded technology infrastructure to work toward HIPAA compliance. In his most recent role, Syed was responsible for Adventist Health Care’s enterprise IT infrastructure and operations, including information security, datacenter services, interface development and service desk.
Outside of work, Syed dedicates himself to spending time with his family and volunteering in his community.
