Marie’s interactive approach and direct communication style are key to helping her determine the root causes holding her clients back from achieving their goals. Although she can always rely on her impressive skillset of process improvement and project management tools, Marie believes the simplest tools are often the most powerful. She lives for that moment when she sees lightbulbs going off around the room and people start getting excited and engaged in problem solving and planning next steps.
“Technology is a key enabler of strategy, but must be coupled with good business process and the right people in place for it to be truly effective.” -Marie Savoie
At Hartman, Marie supports engagements that need expertise in process optimization or strong project execution methodology. She helps diagnose areas of opportunity in the value chain and develops measurable, outcome-based plans for improvement. Marie brings both traditional project management and agile methods to help clients set a vision for success and work iteratively until their goals are reached and the business value is fully realized. Marie was previously vice president and program manager at T. Rowe Price, where, among her many accomplishments, she helped establish their Continuous Improvement Practice, developed training and standards for their Enterprise Agile Practice, and led large-scale initiatives in their Project Management Office. She also led a program to establish a Lean deployment across a 2,000 person division. At Textron Financial Corporation, Marie was one of the youngest employees to be certified as a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, and one of her projects was selected for the international Lean Six Sigma summit of excellence.
Outside of work, Marie keeps busy with her two young daughters — mainly reading, camping, and working on art and sewing projects. She and her husband share a passion for salsa dancing and traveling, and they also hope to launch a community-building app together in the near future. Marie is fluent in French and now learning Spanish. Fun fact: She’s currently working on restoring a 200-year-old haunted house in Baltimore.
